Friends of the Library
Friends of the Georgetown Public Library (FGPL) are a registered 501 (c) (3) organization separate from the Georgetown Public Library. The Friends advocate for the Library and raise funds for programming, book acquisitions, and general support. The Friends hold a yearly meeting in May to elect officers and board members.

The yearly membership year for FGPL runs from May 1 to April 30 of the following year. Membership forms are available at the library.
Types of memberships include:
Student -- $5 for one year, $20 for 5 years
Individual -- $10 for one year, $40 for 5 years, or $100 for a life membership
Family -- $15 for one year, $50 for 5 years, or $150 for a life membership
Benefactor -- $25 for one year, $75 for 5 years, or $200 for a life membership
The Friends of the GPL Annual Meeting will be Wednesday, May, 2019 TBD from 7-8 p.m.
Various fundraisers are held throughout the year:
The Brick Club is $125 for an honor or memorial brick to be placed on the library walkway. Forms are available at the library or click here for the form to fill out and mail.
Book sales are held twice a year: Friends of the GPL Book Sale, Spring and Fall Dates: March 27-3- and October 9-12, 2019. On Wednesday evening the book sale is open to current Friends members only. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the book sale will be open to everyone during library hours. No books accepted two weeks before - the book sale.
Donations to the book sale can be made by bringing items to the Friends of the Georgetown Library room until October 1, 2018 for the Fall Sale.
The Annual 5k Race/Walk was held in June. The 16th Annual 5k race/walk, Date: June 14, 2019. Runners and walkers pay an entry fee. Pre-register for the race by June TBD the fee is $TBD. Day of the Race registration is $TBD. The race fee is $TBD for children 12 years old and younger. Business sponsorships are also available for the race. - The Fall Friends Gala is a ticketed event on Saturday, November 2, 2019 with a limited number of tickets that will be sold.
