 Bilingual Storytime

Come to the Georgetown Public Library and enjoy Bilingual Storytime with Ms. Veronica.

Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.  Open to ages from 2 to 5

GEORGETOWN, Del. – For the first time ever, the Georgetown Public Library will be providing a bilingual storytime for kids in the community.

The new weekly program will kick off on February 11th at 10:30 in the morning.

Members of the library say kids of all backgrounds between the ages of two and five are welcomed to join.

All sorts of special books will be read in both Spanish and English.

They say kids will also get to dance to salsa music and improve their social skills.

The Director of the Georgetown Public Library Lesley Koble says this new program is part of the library’s recent push to provide more services to the Latino community in Sussex County.

“Traditionally, libraries offer a variety of different storytimes, but with the growing population of Latino families in Georgetown, not including a storytime in their native language is a disservice to them,” said Koble.

Members of the library say they are looking to organize a bilingual storytime every Tuesday morning.
