Music & Memory


  • Use personalized music for enjoyment and to improve quality of life for people with memory issues.
  • Is supported by scientific research and anecdotal evidence.
  • Can be used at any time throughout the day to calm as well as uplift and bring individuals into the present.
  • Has been used in memory care units of nursing and is now available to those cared for at home.
  • Can be used for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, in chronic pain, in dialysis, and in hospice.

Music & Memory at the Library is a partnership between CAMP Rehoboth Chorus and Friends,

Music & Memory Project, and Sussex County Libraries.

5 Tuesdays beginning March 10 from 6 - 7 PM

This program provides hands-on nutrition education through a series of lessons. The group meets once a week for 5 weeks.

You will learn about healthy eating and cooking, saving money at the grocery store, keeping food safe, and how to plan and 

prepare tasty meals. You will see a cooking demo and taste some new recipes..

The Food Smart Program is free to those who are eligible.

Anyone with limited resources and/or young children (0 -18 years old) living at home is eligible. You will receive a bag of

food and other items if you complete the 5 week program.



Foods of the Great Depression -- Cooking Demo with Chef Charles

Date:  Thursday, April 16, 2020  Time:  6:00pm - 7:30pm

Chef Charles Oppman will be here with an exciting cooking demonstration and small tasting..He will prepare cuisine commonly consumed during the throes of the Great Depression using ingredients commonly found in the average home

"Notes on the Beach" performing Tin Pan Alley musical program

Join Jeff Cooper and Glenn Pearson from the musical group "Notes on the Beach" as they present the program Notes in Time: A musical journey through Tin Pan Alley and The 1940's.

The program will focus on different aspects of some of the great songwriters from the American Songbook including George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen and Cole Porter plus others.  The program also includes interesting stories and little-known facts that, along with their music, helps make this program more than just a concert. 



AARP Driver Safety Courses

Refresher Class (4 hours) March 21 - CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

10 AM - 2 PM

This is a refresher course which is appropriate for those have taken a driver safety course no more than 5 years ago.

The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

Payment in the form of cash or check (made out to AARP).

Register at the library January 30 11 am.  Registration is required.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start.


You can bring a snack and/or water to the class.

Wednesday Morning Book Discussion:  


Fourth Wednesday, 10:15 am to 12:00 pm

Read and then discuss the book of the month with other adults.

The Georgetown Library Book Club meets the 4th Wednesday of every month except December when it meets the 3rd Wednesday to avoid Christmas.  All meetings start at 10:15 a.m. 

Please note: December meets the third Wednesday to avoid Christmas.



*Knitting and Yarn Work Class: Mondays (excluding holidays) 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.  Learn to knit or work on your own projects.  Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting or any other needle work? If so, then plan to spend your Monday afternoons working, sharing and learning from others of similar interests. 

*You must bring your own supplies.
