Join us for a lively discussion of "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. The memoir chronicles the unique upbringing of Jeannette and her siblings through the highs and lows of living in poverty and nonconformity. In 2017, the book was adapted to film. "Dolores" Documentary Film Screening: Wednesday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m.
In honor of Women's History Month, join us for a screening and discussion of the documentary, "Dolores." The event will be hosted by the Delaware Humanities Forum.
Dolores Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers and has spent her life as a labor organizer, civil rights advocate and women's rights activist. This documentary film about the woman who coined the farmworkers' famous slogan, "Sí, se puede”—Spanish for “yes, we can—chronicles her evolution from a young woman outraged by economic and social injustices into an outspoken champion for the downtrodden. Run time 95 minutes.
