Bookmobile

The following Bookmobile regulations were gathered from the Sussex County Department of Libraries. Visit the Sussex County Bookmobile website for more detailed information.

Library Card Application

  1. Applications for cards may be made on the Bookmobile or at any public library in Sussex County.
  2. Your library card may be used on the Bookmobile and at all public libraries in Sussex County.
  3. Children under 18 must have a parent signature on application card.
  4. An official photo identification card with current address or photo identification with proof of current address must be presented to receive a library card.
  5. Library cards are free for all residents and non-resident property owners.
  6. Library cards are available to non residents for a small annual fee ($15.00).

Borrowing Materials

  1. Materials checked out from the Bookmobile are loaned for two weeks.
  2. Material requests may be given to Bookmobile staff.
  3. Material not currently aboard the Bookmobile may be requested, placed on hold, and brought to the stop on a future visit.

Renewing Materials

Materials may be renewed on the Bookmobile, at a public library, by calling 381-3582 (Bookmobile cell phone), or online.

Returning Materials

  1. When the Bookmobile is off the road, all materials will be due when the Bookmobile makes its next scheduled visit.
  2. Materials may be returned to any public library in Sussex County.
  3. Materials borrowed from a public library in Sussex County may be returned to the Bookmobile.

Fees and Fines

  1. Bookmobile services are free to all residents of Sussex County.
  2. Annual non-resident non property owners - $15.00 per year
  3. Replacement fee for lost cards is $1.00.
  4. Overdue fines are:
    • Print Material - $0.10 per day
    • (Books, Paperbacks, Magazines, Books On Tape, Vertical File Materials)
    • Audio / Visual Material - $1.00 per day
    • (Computer Files, Video Cassettes, & DVDs)
    • Equipment, Electronics - $ 2.00 per day
